Bostik Marine 940A is a slower skin (30 to 45 minutes) version of 940 Fast Set (15 to 20 minutes). Formulated to withstand harsh marine environments and has a longer open-time which allows for longer working times, especially on larger applications; this marine product is UV resistant (non-yellowing), sandable and paintable. Combines the adhesion/mechanical properties of a urethane, plus the flexibility and UV resistance of a silicone. Exhibits superior adhesion to porous and nonporous surfaces in most applications without the use of a primer, a feature not typically found in a traditional adhesive/sealant. Bostik Marine 940A adhesive/sealant does not in-gas and has outstanding high and low temperature resistance. Solventless and isocyanate free resulting in a product that is both environmentally and user friendly. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Recommended for use in bonding and sealing applications, particularly where permanent elastic bondingbetween surfaces is required. Used above and below the waterline. Outstanding adhesion and UV resistance properties target this product for sealing deck hardware, through-hull fittings, rub-rails and portholes applications. Combines the adhesion/mechanical properties of a urethane, plus the flexibility and UV resistance of a silicone. Provides optimum bonding of aluminum, steel, fiberglass, EPDM rubber or PVC, typically without use of a primer. It maintains elasticity within temperature range of -40 degreesF to 212 degreesF (-40 degreesC to 100 degreesC). SPECIFIC ADHESION: Without primer, 940A adheres to clean, dry, grease-free surfaces on aluminum, stainless/galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), FRP, painted or lacquered wood. MSR Primer M is recommended for applications that require very high thermal or physical stresses, especially under wet conditions.
